A local punk-rock music festival, known as Punk in General (P.I.G.) Fest, will take over The MAMMOTH Art Space on Oct. 19 and Oct. 20.

There will be a total of 24 local bands playing and music is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. each day of the event.

The event will also include camping, side acts, fire pits, food vendors and much more to keep the audience entertained. All ages are welcome to attend the festival.

This two day event requires a $12 admission fee for a one day pass or a $20 fee for a weekend pass. These fees can be paid at the event.

This is the first P.I.G. fest, but there will be more to come in the future. The organizers hope it’ll grow into something bigger over time.

Places to park and public restrooms will be available to the people attending this event.

“This is the first music festival my band has been in, and also the first fest at The MAMMOTH so I don’t know what to expect. But I am very excited,” E. Streeter (12, J&C), the lead vocalist of a local band called The Happy Yew, said. 

“The range of bands involved in the fest is very broad, so I am excited to see people get exposure to bands they may not have seen before,” Oden Curry, the lead guitarist/vocalist of another local band, Dr. Zero, said.

This event could be canceled due to weather as The MAMMOTH is an outdoor venue. There has been no statement on whether or not the festival will be rescheduled if this happens.

The festival falls on the Friday of the Male vs. Manual football game, so this is an opportunity for people who don’t like football to try something new.
