Halloween is next week. With the excitement building, there are events occurring at the Speed Art Museum Cinema this year centering around the spooky theme.
One event is a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. This film was chosen by Dean Otto, the cinema curator. The show is rated R and throughout the years has been viewed and showed a large amount of times.
This showing is special because it’s celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Vogue Theatre. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is used at the Vogue Theatre, a concert hall, and sat 800 seats full of intrigued people. The ephemera from the preserved Vogue collection is showing for the special 20th anniversary this fall.
The pricing to attend the showing is $18 for adults and $12 for children under the age of 12. Manual students and staff can get in for free with a Manual ID.
The screening will occur this Friday, Oct. 19, after hours. After hours, after the usual closing time, is at 5 p.m. but the showing does not start until 8:30 p.m. Be sure to keep calendars open and to schedule the event.
This is not the only Halloween themed event but it is the closest event. If you plan on trying to attend more Halloween events at the museum just go to their website to learn more.
