FEA (Future Educators of America) expanded its horizons on Saturday, September 17, when the club participated in a county-wide FEA Walk-a-Thon. The profits will fund field trips to various colleges and to elementary schools in order to read to children.
The walk started at 9 a.m. at the University of Louisville in front of the Education building, and led to Cardinal Stadium and back.
“It was great to see all the chapters come together in a non-competitive environment,” said FEA President Anya Maddox (11). “We were reminded that we all have something in common – our love for FEA. Overall, I think it was very successful and I am proud to have been a part of the walk.”
“FEA is a great program to get involved in if you love sharing knowledge, learning more each day, and using that knowledge to teach others,” said Treasurer Zahara Gully (11).
FEA hopes to become an even more involved participant for Manual in the coming months. “Our main goal for FEA this year is to get the name out there more so that we can be stronger as a whole group and really represent the Manual FEA Chapter like we should,” said Ms. Nicole Finley (English), FEA’s sponsor.
