On Nov. 1, The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association announced that Maya McClendon (11), along with eight other girls, made the first All-State team for her outstanding performance in volleyball.
McClendon was the only junior selected to the team. “It meant so much to me. I not only won this for me but for my team. We worked so hard all season,” MCclendon said.
Manual’s volleyball team had a goal of winning the state championship this year with their new coach, but lost in the state quarterfinals against Assumption, ending the season. “When we didn’t get our goal it was a disappointment. We worked hard enough,” McClendon said. Alexa Just (11) also received honorable mention.
