COVID-19: The easiest way to make a homemade face mask

Recently, the CDC suggested that people begin wearing masks in public. However, today, medical grade masks like N-95’s are harder to come by.

Contrary to the belief that highly protective masks are the only way to stay safe, homemade masks made from simple cloth do the job just as well.

To control the shortage of the medical masks needed by the doctors and nurses fighting the virus first hand, RedEye’s Social Media Director Mandala Gupta VerWiebe (11, J+C) has created a simple three step process to make your own mask at home. You don’t have to leave your house to obtain the supples, and no sewing is required.

Make your mask following the instructions below, designed by Kate Benton (11, J+C).
