The week in Manual athletics: Oct. 11-17

Cross country:
Yesterday (Sunday) the cross country team competed in the Haunted Woods Classic. Freshman Jessica Secor finished first overall in the girls’ 5000 meter. For the boys 5000 meter, Cooper Sinclair finished 10th overall. This Thursday the cross country team will run in the JCPS Championship at Tom Sawyer State Park.
DuPont Manual girls and boys finished 2nd and 4th respectively at the OCHS Haunted Woods Classic today (both first for Jeff Co schools). Field hockey:
Last week the field hockey team went 1-2 and will look to redeem themselves as they begin their last week of regular season play. To start their week they will travel to play Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) at 6. To end their regular season they will host Ballard Thursday with a start time of 7. They currently rank first in the fourth region.
Football:
Following a player testing positive for COVID-19 the football team missed their game against St. Xavier and will also miss their game this Friday versus Pleasure Ridge Park (PRP).
Boys’ soccer:
The boys’ soccer team will begin the 25th District Tournament with a game against St. Francis tomorrow (Monday) at home starting at 7:30.
Girls’ soccer:
The Lady Crimsons’ currently rank fifth in the Seventh Region. They will host their first opponent, TBA of the 25th District Tournament Wednesday at 5.
Our next game will be in the D25 finals Weds at 5 PM at Manual Stadium, facing the winner of Tuesday’s Central-Pres game. After Districts, Region 7 play starts next Sat afternoon! ⚽️❤️

Volleyball:
To finish the volleyball team’s regular season they will have three games this week. Monday they will travel to Collins to play at 7:30. Wednesday they will play Male at home starting at 7:30 then to host again Thursday versus Mercy at 7. They currently hold second place in the Seventh Regional ranking.
