Spring sport seniors competing at the collegiate level

Despite spring athletes missing out on the entirety of their junior season of competition due to COVID-19, these seniors have successfully committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Madisyn Miller (12, HSU), who is an all-around player for Manual’s softball team playing the infield, outfield and pitcher, announced her commitment to Indiana Tech University to study communications and sports media.
“I’m most looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing what it’s like to be a collegiate athlete and living in a new area,” Miller said.
Miller is currently ranked 66 in the state of Kentucky for varsity softball as she went on a streak earlier this season hitting at least one home run a game over a five-game period; the Kentucky record is six. Following this performance, she was named a contender for Kentucky Softball Player of the Week.
So excited to announce my commitment to play softball at Indiana Tech University!! It’s been a long journey, and thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way. Truly couldn’t have done it without you all. So excited for the future!! Go warriors!! ?⚔️ @INTechSoftball pic.twitter.com/t6guG4L3oz

Darius Brown (12, HSU) has signed to run for DePaul University; he currently competes in the 110m and 300m hurdles this year for the track team. Last season for indoor track, Brown qualified for New Balance Nationals when he ran 8.24 for the 60m hurdles, which ranked top 10 all-time in Kentucky.
Despite his successes, hurdle events weren’t always the plan for Brown.
“My coach would say if you’re going to jump then you’re going to put effort into it,” Brown said.
Brown looks forward to winning the 110m hurdle and 300m hurdle championships this year and will continue to compete in the events throughout college at DePaul.
