Second senior art gallery opened Dec. 1

On December 1st, seven Visual Art (VA) students – Amy Thammavong (12), Nayely Sanchez (12), Kanisha Boleware (12), Victoria Sutton (12), Christina Arnold (12), Celia Sandler (12), and Chris Meyer (12) – had their senior art show opening in the Norma E. Brown Gallery in the first floor of the VA Annex.

The show was sponsored by Ms. Suzanne Sidebottom (VA). The students spent months working on each of their art pieces with occasional advice from Ms. Sidebottom, but they only spent three days preparing the whole show themselves. Many people gathered at the art opening to see these students and their art.

“I went to a lot of shows as a freshman and thinking, ‘Oh my god, in four years I will be there’, and here I am now. It’s kind of surreal that I’m here now,” said Arnold.

The art gallery will be open until Jan. 6.
