CMA students to travel to New York City

On March 14-18, all students who are enrolled in a CMA classes, will be enrolled in CMA, or are members of a journalistic club, will have the opportunity to go to the Columbia Scholastic Press Association High School Journalism Convention in New York City

Ms. Liz Palmer (CMA), said there are over 40 students expressing interest in the New York trip, more than ever in previous years. “Typically we have around 10 to 20 people go to New York, never this many,” Ms.Palmer said.

The trip will consist of many workshops, professionals, and opportunities for students to further understanding of journalistic skills. “It is also a great bonding experience for kids,” Ms. Palmer said.

“I’m really interested in this year’s New York trip. I feel like it would be an eye- opening experience and it would help not only with my classes but with my future in the journalism field.” Kyla Grant (10) said.

The trip will cost $950, with a $300 deposit due on Jan. 20 and the rest due on Feb. 24
