Manual’s varsity swim team celebrated senior night on Wednesday with a dominating win against Male and Ballard.

The seniors celebrated were Lillie Allen (12, YPAS), Sophia Altstadt (12, HSU), Anna Burzynski (12, J&C), Riley Davis (12, HSU), Vincent Do (12, MST), Dant Parker (12, HSU), Jackson Shuman (12, HSU), Rachel Shumate (12, VA) and Leo Tobbe (12, J&C).

The Crimsons won with 1,691 points, 812 coming from the girls and 879 from the boys.

Altstadt won the women’s 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.52 and Parker won the men’s with a time of 1:49.53.

Zoe Ziegler (9, HSU) won the women’s 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:27.89 and Nathan Ice (11, HSU) won the men’s with a time of 2:43.95.

Grayson Bohem (11, HSU) won the men’s 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.34 and Madeline Haller (11, HSU) won the women’s with a time of 27.07.

Ballard’s Kate Mardis won the women’s 100-yard butterfly and freestyle. Shuman also won both events for Manual with a time of 54.26 for the butterfly and 51.18 for the butterfly.

Parker won the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.79 while Hayden Beckley (10, HSU) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.46.

The Manual girls’ 400-yard freestyle relay team won with a combined time of 4:05.68 and the boys’ team won with a time of 3:50.83.

“Swim senior night was super exciting for everyone involved, including the two other teams who also held their senior night. Manual’s team had the best meet to end out our regular season, the highlight being the boys 400 free relay where they all swam fly and won,” Caitlyn Staebler (10, HSU) said.

The next tournament will be the KHSAA Regionals on February 4 at the University of Louisville Natatorium.
