After school on Wednesday, Executive Council hosted the annual carnival in the courtyard. A variety of food, drinks and games were available for students to enjoy.
There were numerous games including an obstacle course, inflatable life-size foosball, ball toss, connect four, hula hoops, plinko with prizes and many more.
“I really like the blow up ones, the inflatables, I think it adds more life,” Adriana Bui (12, VA) said.
The engaging activities led other students to enjoy other things in the carnival as well.
“The activities were fun, I think I’m gonna do some face painting soon,” Matthew Comstock (9, YPAS) said. “I liked the games, and the food as well.”
The carnival was filled with students dressed up for Costume Day. There were a variety of characters from pop culture, movies and more.
“I’m dressed as A-Train from “The Boys,” particularly after he ran over Robin in episode one,” Comstock said. “I think everyone’s costumes are fun.”
The Manual Book Club offered books for students to read at the Book Club Beach Club. Students laid on beach towels and read from a variety of books from the Louisville Free Public Library.
“These books are free, and brand new and they’re donated,” Book Club sponsor Ms. Rich said. “I don’t want to bring a single one back upstairs!”
Along with books, games and activities, relay races were held.
“That was awful, it’s hot out here, and I’m still dizzy,” Sean French (12, HSU) said after spinning in a circle 10 times and sprinting through the grass.
The groups who won the races will compete again on the gym floor in Friday’s pep rally.
Members of Executive Council worked tirelessly throughout the day to set up for the carnival.
“Setting up the carnival always gets my spirit high for the male manual football game. I Love getting ready and seeing everyone enjoy the activities,” Vice President Shae Bowers said.
Winners of the carnival relay races will compete on the gym floor in the pep rally, before the Old Rivalry game on Friday.
