On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Manual’s swim team delivered an impressive performance in multiple events at Central High School.
The first event to take place was the girls’ 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Clara Pardon (9, HSU) Lucy Teng (12, MST), Zoe Ziegler (10, HSU) and Madeline Haller (12, HSU). The medley relay team set the tone by winning with a final time of 2:08.71, earning 32 points for Manual.
The boys’ 200-yard medley relay team featuring Hayden Beckley (11, HSU), Grayson Boehm (12, YPAS), Gavin Cline (12, HSU) and Eli Robinson (12, HSU), followed the girls’ team, also securing first place with a time of 1:53.59.
In the girls’ 50-yard freestyle, Abby Grigsby (12, HSU) claimed first place for Manual, finishing with a time of 27.75 seconds. Beckley also dominated the boys’ 100-yard IM, winning first with a time of 56.78 seconds.
Thomas Rouchka (9, YPAS) followed with another outstanding performance, picking up more momentum for the Crimsons’ by finishing first in the boys’ 50-yard breaststroke with a final time of 32.49. Nora Wolf (10, HSU) then followed with another win for Manual in the girls 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:00.84.
Boehm added to Manual’s victories by winning the boys’ 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.75 seconds. Pardon also took first place in the girls’ 50-yard backstroke, clocking in at 33.46 seconds, while Beckley won his second event, the boys’ 50-yard backstroke, with a time of 27.25.
Ziegler also secured first place for Manual in the girls’ 50-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 30.95 seconds. Despite not winning, Maxwell Moss (11, MST) placed second in the boys’ 50-yard butterfly with a final time of 27.31 seconds.
It was a strong showing for Manual, with multiple top finishes, contributing to a successful meet.
