Manual boys tennis team holds tryouts

The duPont Manual High School boys’ tennis team held its first tryouts on Wednesday and Friday of last week after school at Triangle Park.

Mr. Tim Smith (Spanish) will be coaching the team, as he had in previous years, as well as the girls’ team.

“It’s different because I have to share my time more,” Mr. Smith said. “I’m really excited to take on both programs.”

“We’re going to have to try hard and focus this season so we can compete at the state tournament,” said Daniel Cobourn (10), a varsity player.

Season matches are set to start in March.
