The Lady Crimson lacrosse team beat the North Oldham Chargers 14-8 on senior night at Manual Stadium Tuesday.

Before the game, the seniors were recognized for their four years of hard work and development.

The majority of the goals came from the seniors. Rose Chancy (#31, 12) was the leading scorer for the Lady Crimsons, getting a hat trick early in the first half of the day. Alexis Meng (#65, 12) also got a hat trick for tonight’s game.

Other goals came from Olivia Loy (#45, 12), Maria Georgious (#2, 12), Kelsey Wunderlich (#30, 12), Mallory Siegenthaler (#1, 12) and India Reed (#32, 10).

The game started with a quick goal by Manual. The Lady Crimsons were determined to keep possession of the ball and the game from the start.

Chancy was the first goal by Manual and Loy had a quick second goal. Soon the two combined had five goals with 14:14 left in the half.

“I think we played as a team,” Coach Dean Walker for the Lady Crimsons said. “Individual effort never wins. Team effort does.”

The Crimsons kept up the motivation and determination throughout the game and ended the first half leading the Chargers 9-4.

Going into the second half, the Chargers fought back and started taking control, beating Manual to ground balls, and scoring a few more goals.

“I think we put some life back in our team tonight,” North Oldham head coach Betty Jean Cobb said.

During the second half, the two teams were going back and fourth, goal after goal until North Oldham caught up to make the score 11-7 with 11:18 left to play.

The Lady Crimsons came out victorious and scored three more goals in the last stretch of the game, making the final score 14-8.

“I think we played awesome!” Chancy said. “We’ve been working a lot better together as the season has gone on and grown together as a team.”

The Lady Crimsons will play at Eastern next Tuesday for their last game before the postseason tournament the following week.
