This Week in Manual Athletics: April 23 – 28

Boys’ Lacrosse

Following a win over KCD last week, the boys’ team will face Woodford County on Monday. Face off will be at 6 p.m. at Manual Stadium, this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. They will then travel to Male on Wednesday for the lacrosse edition of the old rivalry, game time is set for 6 p.m.. They will then travel to Tates Creek on Thursday with face off at 6 p.m.. The boys team will play Scott County on Saturday to wrap up the week, the game will be at 1 p.m. at Scott County.

Girls’ Lacrosse

The girls’ team will face Male on Tuesday for the lacrosse edition of the old rivalry. Draw will be at 7 p.m. at Manual Stadium, this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. They will then travel to Evansville Castle on Saturday with games at 5:30 and 8 p.m..

Baseball

After a win of 15-2 over Elizabethtown last week, the baseball team will travel to Bullitt East on Monday with first pitch at 5:30 p.m.. They will then face St. Francis on Tuesday. First pitch will be at 5 p.m. at Harmony Field at Shawnee Park. They will then compete in the Louisville Invitational Tournament on Thursday and Saturday at DeSales. Their first game will be against DeSales at 6 p.m. on Thursday, on Saturday they face Russell County at 12:30 p.m. and Sayre at 3 p.m..

Matthew Marino (12, #7) swings at the ball in the bottom of the second inning. Marino hit a single, allowing teammate Matt Olson (11, #2) to get to third base. Olson would score on the next play off a hit from Aaron Sary (9, #20), Manual’s first score of the game.

Softball

Following a win of 3-1 over Silver Creek last week, the softball team will travel to Atherton on Monday with first pitch at 5:30 p.m.. They are set to play Butler on Tuesday. First pitch will be at 5 p.m. at George Sauer Athletic Complex, this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. They then face Floyd Central on Wednesday at George Sauer Athletic Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m., this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. They will play Seneca on Thursday at George Sauer Athletic Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m., this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. They will then host the Manual Triangle tournament on Saturday at George Sauer Athletic Complex. They have games at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., this will be a Crimson/Ram Card event.

Boys’ Tennis

After placing first in the McCracken Invitational over the weekend, the boys’ team is set to face Butler on Monday for senior night. The match will begin at 4 p.m. at Central Park. They are then set to travel to Elizabethtown on Tuesday, the match will begin at 4 p.m.. They will then play Ballard on Wednesday, the match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Central Park. They will then compete in the KYHSTCA Sectional Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Girls’ Tennis

After a loss to Huston in the McCracken Invitational, the girls’ team will travel to Elizabettown on Tuesday. The match will begin at 4 p.m.. They will then face North Oldham on Wednesday, the match will begin at 4:30 p.m. at North Oldham. They then will travel to Kentucky Country Day on Thursday, the match will begin at 4 p.m.. The girls’ team is then set to compete in the KYHSTCA Sectional Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Track and Field

Following Eastern Relays on Friday and Saturday, the track and field team will compete in the All-Comers meet on Wednesday at Male. They will then compete in the Brother Borgia Invitational on Saturday at St. Xavier.
