The Dazzlers placed first in both of their categories at the semi-state dance competition on November 21. The competition took place at Valley High School.

The dance team participated in the hip hop and gameday categories.

The dancers wore rhinestone studded uniforms for both dances but broke away from the usual red costumes for hip hop. Instead, the Lady Crimsons danced in dark green and black for that category.

The music was upbeat for both hip hop and gameday. Gameday dance music is usually a remix of several popular songs combined. The fast-paced music is intended to make the dance sharp and quick.

The winning teams received awards at the end of the competition. The Dazzlers placed first in both against other schools such as Ballard and Male.

“I think they did amazing. They went out and did exactly what we asked. Be clean, be sharp, bring energy and have fun!” said head coach Kirstie Adanick.

As a result of this, they will be advancing to the state competition. State will take place on Sunday, December 12 at George Rogers Clark High School.
