The Girls Indoor Soccer League is starting up next Friday for Manual players or any Manual girl who wants to play in addition to the regular season soccer and possibly club soccer. From January 13 to March 23 there will be eight games played either on Fridays or Saturdays at the River City Sports Arena.
Alex Rendon the father of Sara Rendon (11) and Aaron Bridge the father of Danielle Bridge (10), both coaches for Derby City Rossoneri Soccer, agreed to coach the league this year.
“Indoor soccer is a chance for all of the Manual girls to come together again. It also helps them stay in shape during the off season,” Aaron Bridge said.
Costing $60 to $70 per girl with the minimum of 10 girls, they are going to have games and tournaments to help prepare for the season.
“Though there aren’t any practices, playing games is good for the players to do the whole year, it keeps your head in the game all the time.” Lauren Fiscus (10) said.
“I don’t play club soccer and that can take a toll by the time the regular season comes around so it feels good to know i’m doing something year around,” Gabby Torres (10) said.
