The Manual girls’ JV tennis team defeated Presentation Academy Tuesday afternoon, winning all five of their courts.

Playing singles one was Ella Mohr (9, J&C), in singles two was Ella Xing (10, MST) and in singles three was Priya Midha (10, HSU).

Playing doubles one was Katherine Dikes (11, J&C) and Lauren Faber (12, HSU) and doubles two was made up of Alice Kwon (10, MST) and Evelyn Weinstein (9, VA).

Xing and Midha both won their matches 8-0, while Mohr won 8-2. Mohr made consistent serves throughout, as well as catching every short ball her opponent sent her.

“I didn’t play super well and I’m not very proud,” Mohr said when asked about how she felt about her match.

Faber and Dikes won 8-0 and Weinstein and Kwon won 8-2.

However, the Crimsons faced their opponents and the weather. It was around 40 degrees when they started playing. The players had mixed feelings about the conditions.

“I think it actually helped me just because I love being outside and I spend a lot of time outside, so I’m kind of used to the different weather,” Midha said.

“I think I did good…[but] my hands got numb,” Weinstein said.

The next girls’ JV tennis match is on Friday against Central Hardin at 4 pm.
