This week in Manual athletics: Feb. 10-14

Swim

Last week, the swim team swept the regional swim and dive meets, coming in first place for the girls’ swim team, the girls’ dive team and second place for the boys’ swim team. They also were the combined team champions. The team will be back in action on Feb. 22 for the state meet. 

Boys’ Basketball

Last week, the boys’ basketball team fell to Butler but defeated Central. This week, they will have two games. On Tuesday, they will travel to the Chirstian Academy of Louisville to play at 7:30. Then, on Thursday they will face Male at Manual at 7:30. This will be a Crimson/Ram Card event.

Girls’ Basketball

Last week, the girls’ basketball team fell to Sacred Heart in the finals of the Louisville Invitational Tournament, making them the runner-ups. They also lost to Butler and defeated Central. This week, they will have two games. They will travel to Christian Academy of Louisville on Tuesday to play at 6, then on Thursday they will face off against Male at Manual at 6. This will be a Crimson/Ram Card event. 

Bowling

The girls’ bowling team ended their season last week with the state tournament. The team came in eighth place, and individual, Heather Allen, came in 18th place in the singles tournament. On the boys’ side, Jacob Rowan came in 8th place. 

Wrestling 

Last week, the wrestling team competed in the regional tournament where Conley Combs and Jacon Mann qualified for the state tournament. This week, the wrestling team will compete in the state tournament on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The start time for this competition is TBA.
