The varsity girls’ basketball team defeated the Seneca Redhawks on Monday at Manual as part of the KHSAA regional tournament. The final score was 82-23.

First half:

The first quarter started with the ball in Manual’s possession. Sydne Tolbert (#5, 11) scored the first four points for the Lady Crimsons.

The Crimsons continued to bring the score up, and the first quarter ended with a score of 35-1 after Amesika Gbegnon (#10, 11) scored the first point for the Redhawks in a free throw.

The second quarter continued the same way. Manual continued to gain points, although Gbegnon made another free throw shot for Seneca, bringing the score up to 58-4 before the first half ended.

Second half:

The Lady Rams continued to stretch the gap between themselves and the Redhawks in the second half. With four minutes left in the third quarter, the score reached 64-12.

Lily Brown (#32, 8) scored a three-pointer for Seneca in the fourth quarter but was not enough as the game ended in a Crimson victory, 82-23.

The girls’ team will face Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) on Wednesday at 6 in the Seventh Regional Semi-final at Valley.
