On Jan. 14, in a rivalry match against Male, the girls’ and boys’ swim teams won by 1,100 points. The meet was also the team’s senior night.

“You know, this is definitely one of my favorite meets of the year, senior night. I’ve been on this team for four years and it’s just great seeing all my fellow seniors grow up and just a great way to cap off the regular season,” Beckley said.

The first event of the night was the girls’ 200-yard medley relay, in which Manual took first place with a time of 2:04.62. Linnea Shapero (11, VA), Jamie Lewis (9, HSU), Lana Shapero (9, HSU) and Zoe Ziegler (11, HSU) were the winning team.

The Lady Crimsons did not compete in the 500-yard freestyle. However, in the boys 500-yard freestyle, Adam Burt (11, MST) took second place.

In the girls’ 200-yard freestyle relay, Manual’s highest team placed third. In the boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay, Manual took the top three places, their fastest time being 1:40.22.

Coty scored the highest in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking second place with a time of 1:21.48. In the boys’ 100-yard breaststroke, Moss took first place with a time of 1:16.45.

The final event of the night was the 400-yard freestyle relay, but because the Crimsons changed the order of the swimmers, their times were disqualified.

They beat Male first and foremost. It’s a good team. They like to support each other. they’re just a bunch of good kids to be around, to be honest,” president of the swim booster club, Tony Raluy said.

The teams next meet is Saturday, Jan.17 at St. X. The time is to be determined.
