Manual hosted a pep rally on Wednesday to celebrate the Dazzlers’ dance team after their victory in the Hip-Hop category at the state championship in December. This is the fourth consecutive win at the state championship for the Dazzlers. The team also came in second in the Game Day dance category.

As the school gathered in the gym for the pep rally, athletic director David Zuberer began the celebration. He and principal Michael Newman gave speeches in which they expressed their amazement and praise for the Dazzlers’ performances throughout the season.

Head coach, Kirstie Adanick, gave a speech as well and announced each team member. Newman presented state championship plaques to all the dancers.

“It was really cool because we’ve never got recognized for anything like before and it was just cool to have the whole school here,” Kaitlyn Meiman (12, YPAS) said.

Meiman, alongside the rest of the senior Dazzlers, gave speeches, praising the team. They thanked their coaches and team members for the opportunities and experiences they have gotten, such as winning state all four years and competing for the United States in the world championships.

“It’s a feeling that’s indescribable. It makes me feel very good about myself and my team,” Meiman said.

The pep rally concluded with the Dazzlers doing their pregame cheer and then leading the school in Stand Up and Cheer.

The Dazzlers will compete in the NDA National Championship in Orlando in March.
